The Day You Stop Trying, is The Day You Stop Living

Sick as...

After a good result in the Northern Combine Three Day Tour, I was looking forward to building on my form going into the following races. Events such as Tour of Gippsland, Preston Mountain Classic and a few others... But a came down with a sniffle, which turned into something far worse.

I took 2 days off the bike to recuperate, before doing a coffee ride with a close mate - and this is all it took for me to go from a sniffle to a full blown chest infection, and almost 2 weeks off the bike! I'm at the tail end of it now, but still I'm not 100% better. I'm almost done with my 14 days of Roxar antibiotics, and am keen to get back on the bike tomorrow and cruise along Beach Rd.

Usually I would gain something from all of this, like learning to eat better, or dress warmer or sleep more. All things considered, in this instance there is nothing I could really have done differently. I think it was merely a combination of doing things in excess, especially work hours. But there's nothing I can do to reduce that, except reduce the amount of money I need... Also not possible!

Otherwise, back on the bike tomorrow and keen to get the legs rolling, and get back onto the Peter Barnett training program, and the mentality that goes with it.
