The Day You Stop Trying, is The Day You Stop Living

Work, Train, No Play

Wow... It's been an intense 2 weeks, regarding both work and training. Actually the biggest burden was falling ill and feeling really worn down in general. What was just a minor cold soon turned into losing my appetite, not sleeping and slowly sliding down a slippery slope. But I've reached the bottom of this particular slope, turned around and looked to the top and realised it was a pretty small hill. Time to start climbing to the top of the hill again!!

I've not had a day off work in 2 weeks now, and my bank balance thankfully confirms this! I've met all my new requirements in life; rent, food, petrol and more food. Did I mention coffee? But I look at my situation now and I feel I have it all happening for me. I've got the least amount of obstacles in my path in a very long time - and things are starting to really work out.

On the bike, and I'm 1 week into my new training routine under the guidance of Peter Barnett - it's the first week of a 2 week strength block, followed by a week of spinning and evaluation, to see how I responded to the new training. So far so good. Any knee or back issues have not resurfaced as yet, but it is something I'm very aware of.I'm heading out to the Dandenongs tomorrow with my team mates for a session, but unfortunately I'll have to turn around early and head home to make it to work on time. But I'll back this up with a long day on Monday (my first day off work in 2 weeks, thank God!)

And last but not least, I've taken a look around to see some honest, hardworking people who've got the heart to take an interest in me and my life. From work colleagues, to team mates and family, to some amazing people I've met lately - Thank you! Cycling aside, you're having a welcomed positive influence on who I am.
